Face oil for all skin types
Oils have an advantage over creams. They do not need any preservatives and are therefore particularly suitable for sensitive skin. Vegetable oils contain vitamins and minerals to a high degree. They combine with the fat on human skin, bring their active ingredients into the top layer of the skin, prevent the skin from drying out and ensure good blood circulation.
Oil is not the same as oil
Not all oils are suitable for all skin types. Rice germ oil, for example, is particularly suitable for oily skin. Almond oil, on the other hand, forms its own layer on the skin and is therefore recommended for sensitive skin. Oil from wild roses or cranberry seeds smoothes wrinkles; that of cucumber seeds contains potassium, sodium, magnesium and silicon and therefore helps the cells to renew themselves.
Wheat germ oil tightens the skin just like soybean oil. Oils from the kernels of apricots and plums are good for dry skin because they keep it supple. The same applies to olive oil, because it provides parched skin with fat.
Good facial oils
Good facial oils should initially not damage the skin. This applies to many vegetable oils, for example olive oil, which was already the first choice for skin care in ancient Greece.
Second, we recommend products that provide the skin with nutrients and not just beautify the surface for a short time. Paraffins and silicones in industrial face creams ensure that the oils last longer, but weaken the positive properties of many vegetable oils. Such industrial oils with silicone and paraffin contain water loss, but do not regenerate the skin because they do not penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.
Many vegetable oils contain lineum oleum, an unsaturated fatty acid. The body converts these into polyunsaturated linolenic acids, stores them in the skin's fat and thus strengthens wound healing. The linolenic acids also have an antiseptic effect.
Olive oil is suitable for skin care on the whole body and also on the face. It contains a lot of vitamin E, and this boosts the production of keratin. Keratin refers to fiber proteins that form the horny substance - the horn of the rhinoceros as well as our fingernails. Horn cells with a nucleus are called keratinocytes.
Keratinocytes form the epidermis and provide the keratin. This repels water and firms the skin. Olive oil not only gives the skin a superficial shine, but also ensures that the skin maintains a firm structure in the long term.
It is also a good home remedy for dry and flaky skin. If you suffer from this, you can massage the oil into the damp skin after showering. The pores are still open due to the warm water, which means that it is absorbed into the body. A skin so softened with olive oil lasts for several days.
Which skin needs which oil?
Is your skin dry? Then you can use rich oils. These give fat back to the skin and soothe stimuli. Examples include almond oil or olive oil.
Is your skin sensitive? Then essential oils are not for you. You should not apply lemon or spruce oil. The majority of people have "normal skin" and can therefore use most oils.
A combination skin needs both substances that balance the sebum and care for the skin, for example rosemary oil.
Do you have oily skin? Is your skin blemished? Then vegetable oils are the first choice that do not clog the pores. This includes grape seed oil. In contrast to sensitive skin, essential oils are even good here. Lavender oil, for example, works against bacteria. Argan oil, emu oil, jojoba oil and wild rose oil are also suitable here.
Under no circumstances should you apply coconut oil to oily skin. This clogs the pores and leads to even more impurities.
Oil that regenerates the skin is suitable for old skin.
Oils for sensitive skin
Facial oil for sensitive skin soothes and relieves stimuli. This includes the oil of the marigold, because it counteracts inflammation, strengthens the healing of skin wounds and is quickly absorbed into the skin.
Marula oil is full of antioxidants and binds moisture. It is also suitable for sensitive skin.
Almond oil regenerates and relieves wrinkles, redness and inflammation in neurodermatitis.
Facial oils for dry skin
Dry skin flakes and wrinkles. Avocado oil prevents this because it promotes the formation of skin cells and also contains omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A and E.
The first choice oil comes from coconut, because it contains an unusually high amount of fatty acids.
It is very suitable for dry and cracked skin. It regenerates the skin due to its moisturizing and moisturizing effects.
Oil from mango kernels is also suitable for cracked skin.
Oils for blemished skin
If the skin is blemished, the skin shines strongly and the pores are enlarged, which many people find to be unaesthetic. Grape seed oil contains vitamins E and K, as well as lecithin and procyanide. It smoothes the skin and does not clog the pores.
Do you suffer from pimples? Then it's best to use tea tree oil. This has an antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal effect. Attention: Tea tree oil is more of a medicine than a care product. If you use it purely, only apply it to the pimples themselves, otherwise mix it with other oils.
Apply facial oil
You can apply facial oils unmixed and massage into damp skin after washing. If it combines with water, it can penetrate the skin better.
You can apply most products together with creams and thus provide additional protection, for example in changeable weather. You can also apply oil to your face before putting on a mask. The active ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin than with normal use.
Face oil also works well when removing make-up. To do this, dampen the face, apply oil and remove the make-up with a cotton ball.
Hemp oil contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, gamma-linolenic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, vitamins B1, B2 and E, as well as phosphorus, potassium, calcium, manganese, sodium, iron, magnesium, zinc and Copper.
The body can absorb the fatty acids from the oil directly. The oil strengthens the protection of the skin against bacteria such as poisons and prevents it from drying out. Hemp oil also relieves diseases such as psoriasis and neurodermatitis. Stearic acid in particular counteracts inflammation and harmful microbes. This way, small wounds heal better and fewer pimples form.
The gamma-linolenic acid binds moisture in the skin cells. This creates upholstery and less wrinkles on the surface.
Argan oil nourishes, regenerates and gives moisture. It also inhibits inflammation and works against neurodermatitis, psoriasis and eczema.
Evening primrose oil is recommended for old or dry skin. It makes the skin elastic and helps against reddening of the skin.
Pomegranate oil includes a particularly large number of antioxidants and thus helps especially against the aging of the cells and additionally reduces the pores.
Borage oil, evening primrose oil and currant oil care for irritated skin. Borage seeds contain 38 percent oil, and this oil has the highest gamma-linolenic acid content, as well as linoleic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, nervonic acid, erucic acid and gadoleic acid.
For old skin or skin on which scars form, macadamia nut oil, sea buckthorn oil, avocado oil and avellana oil are suitable. Gevuina avella is a relative of the macadamia nut from South America - a silver tree. The seeds contain up to 50 percent oil. This smells a little bit of earth. It is suitable for mature skin and sensitive skin because of its high palmitoleic acid content.
Finally, sea buckthorn oil is full of unsaturated fatty acids, contains many vitamins and carotene. (Dr. Utz Anhalt)
